We built the original Gin Library in Hong Kong, in 2010 with a handful of bottles. In 2018 we brought the entire collection (then standing at 300) to the Azores. Upon opening The Gin Library we were a little over 400 bottles, and as of 2020 we are at almost 500 bottles, putting this in the top 3 gin bars in the world by number of bottles on display.
In 2024 we want to apply for a Guinness World Record and we need your help to do this. If you are a consumer of gin and would like to come to The Gin Library, bring a craft gin we don’t have in our collection and we will offer you a complimentary Azorean and Portuguese gin tasting in return.
If you are a distiller then we would really appreciate a bottle of your juniper infusion. We will pay all shipping and any tax / import duties. You will also be offered a voucher for up to 4 people to come for a complimentary gin tasting here at The Gin Library which you can use via a competition, promotion in-distillery or staff offering as you wish. We will also feature your gin on the list of gins and we will showcase your gins as part of our masterclasses. Please contact us for more details and shipping details.
Notes:
Gin library: If the house has guests staying, the library may not be available, and we will host the tasting in another location on the estate
Transport: This experience involves alcohol. Please consider a designated driver or book a taxi.
