A GIN INFUSED WITH THE AZORES

        1. A gin created with botanicals from the lands of the Azores and inspired by the whales of the Atlantic ocean. Each bottle is uniquely made, and uses only locally sourced botanics and citrus. Baleia translates from Portugese to mean whale in English.
        2. Our gins are created in partnership with the Rocha Negra distillery, where Ali is a brand ambassador and helps the distillery with their own creations and limited-edition releases.

THE SOLAR BRANCO ECO ESTATE

    1. The Solar branco Eco Estate is a leading sustainable hotel, located on the island of Sáo Miguel, part of the Azores. The estate and grounds are carefully being restored, respecting the history and breathing new life into each building. Eco-initiatives include a complete ban on single use plastic and pesticides, and the hotel is also the first in the Azores to commit to being a zero food waste business.

The gardens have 80 orange and lemon trees, and over 1,000 natitive and pollinator friendly plants are added each year as part of the restoration. The grounds have 2 wildlife ponds for frogs and local birds. The chickens of Cluckingham Palace are all free range, enjoying the meadow for grazing. Wildlife friendly trees are being planted throughout the estate. There is even a hedgehog rescue and homing center.

Proceeds from regular events such as the expats in Azores drinks and the Azores gardeners group goes to Casa Do Gaiato (Ponta Delgada Children’s Home) ensuring that as tourism brings new wealth to the Azores no child is left without opportunity.
